While the recent economic downturn – and associated budget cuts – impacted many corporate relocation programs, most companies still need to relocate employees to fill key roles and enhance career development. However, there appears to be a trend towards an increase in the reluctance to relocate over the past decade, resulting mainly from dual-career families, improvements to technology that allow telecommuting and a general societal shift in the importance placed on work/life balance.
