Update: U.S. West Coast Port Shutdown

According to industry sources it appears that a shutdown of West Coast Ports (from San Diego to Seattle) is imminent due to a lack of progress in negotiations between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) and the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA). During the ongoing negotiations, port congestion has dramatically increased, resulting in increased costs and supply chain delays that have created havoc for shippers while overall production at the West Coast terminals has dramatically decreased in comparison to prior years. While nothing has been formally announced, it appears that terminals could shut down within the next 5 to 10 days.
