Shipping NEWS: Canada: Container Truckers Threaten Port Strike in Vancouver
Since last Wednesday, February 26th truckers have been unable to pick up or return any containers to/from the ports and rail terminals in Vancouver due to ongoing labor issues.
Members of the United Truck Association (UTA) in Vancouver are demanding improvements to long waiting times at the port, more pay and standardized rates across the sector to curb industry undercutting. Unionized truckers will vote Saturday on a tentative deal.
As a result of these ongoing issues shipment delays are expected and may result in additional charges. We will continue to monitor this situation and provide further updates as they become available.
