Shipping NEWS: Croatia: Restrictions Lifted as Croatia Becomes 28th EU Member
On July 1st, Croatia will become the 28th member of the European Union. With the opening of the border to the member states, customs clearance processes will no longer apply for intra-EU shipments.
Until the country joins the Schengen Area, Croatia still requires work and residence permits for citizens entering with shipments from outside the EU. It is therefore important not to ship anything before import customs documentation is given the green light.
Please be advised that import taxes on vehicles are still applicable for EU citizens, even without a customs clearance process. These will be requested when the vehicle is registered in Croatia.
