2016 A Year in Review: Flexibility is Key
One of the key mobility buzzwords of 2016: “Alternative”! This year, we’ve witnessed a palpable shift away from traditional, as businesses reach for outside-the-box solutions to address the need to balance tight budgets, changing employee demographics, and fierce competition for top global talent.
What’s more interesting is that employees are now taking command of mapping their own career path, realizing that international assignments are a key component to kick-starting their leadership development, and subsequently there has been a rise in the number of self-initiated moves. These factors have all contributed to the emergence of several alternate mobility programs and policies, which are forcing employers to approach mobility with a greater degree of flexibility in order to remain competitive. Below is a brief overview of these alternate approaches, primed to gain momentum into 2017.
